- Salikatt was born while biking on a beautiful plain, surrounded by ancient temples, in Myanmar six years ago. Off course the physical brewery came later, but at that very moment the name for our brewing project was first suggested. About three years later, in 2015, we sold our home, moved back to Stavanger and founded Salikatt Bryggeri. With a limited budget, we bought a TIG welding machine and made a frankenstein brewhouse from some second hand dairy tanks by ourselves. A couple of professional fermentation tanks was installed, a semi automatic bottling line was built and the first beers were brought out to the public the spring 2016. Today we have a lot more tanks and the bottles have been replaced by cans. Beers are better than ever before and they are still brewed on that frankenstein brewhouse.
** Why are you attending Jernteppet Ølfestival in Hammerfest, Norway - insanely far north?
- Even for Norwegians Hammerfest is insanely far north. Excotic and exciting, we just could not miss this.
** Any fun facts we should tell the world?
- Salikatt means "wow" in the local dialect.
